Playing Dead *Open to Join*

Peyton Grim

Zeke comes in and sees me, I know I am busted when he pulls me up off the ground. "What the hell has gotten into you, running away from our family!" He shouts and I look at him in fear because I have never seen him this angry. "I am sorry." I stutter out and just pushes me to the ground. "Your not worth my time, here take the ring back!" He shouts again and tosses his wedding ring at me then storms out of the barn. I look at his ring and I sit baffled and shocked.

Steffani

I run out after Zeke, "Hey! What did she do to make you this mad?"

Zeke Grim

"She cheated on me, had a child with another man and ran away from our family." I say and cross my arms angrily.

Steffani

"Yeah, it was with my husband. Don't you think I've yelled at him and her already? She deserves a second chance. I know she won't blow it like Marty did."

Zeke Grim

"That was her second chance." I say and sigh a little. "She did this to me two years ago and cheated when our son Carl was two."

-Krista-
I waited outside the barn, and saw a man go in and when he walked out, I saw Steffani walk out with him. I went inside the barn, and notice Peyton looking shocked and holding Jeanette. "Did he hurt you?" I came bounding over. I noticed a ring on the ground. "I see, that man was your husband..."

Peyton Grim

"He just pushed me to the ground." I say and tears well up in my eyes. I hold the ring in my hands and then put it on my chain necklace, I hear him talking to Steffani about my old habits and I start to cry.

Carl Grim

I go back into the woods and look around for trouble. I try look for zombies or anything that will get my mind off of everything. I see a bunch of zombies trying to knock down a fence. I usually would warn about the zombies but instead I stood in front of the fence and stared at them as they tried to get through the fence.

Peyton Grim

I set Jennette on a hay stack after I finish crying, I go out to Zeke and look at him. "Are we still married?" I ask and breath heavily as I try not to cry. "I don't care." He says and I look at him, "here then." I say and hand him my wedding ring. "I am taking Carl." He says and I shake my head. "Fine, I have a little girl to take care of." I say and walk back inside the barn.

Carl Grim

The zombies are so close to coming through the fence. I start walking by the fence, my fingers sliding across the fence. I ignored the moans and continue to walk by the fence, trying to catch their attention.

-Krista-
I walk out and notice a boy near the fence surrounding the barn. A bunch of zombies were near him. I take out my sniper and shoot the zombies. "It isn't safe to stay here. We gotta move on out!" I call out after the zombies are dead. I go over to the boy. "What the heck were ya thinking? You coulda been turned into a zombie in a second!" I try not to swear. The boy was 13 at most.

Peyton Grim

I hear zombies and I grab my things and I pick up Jennette, I run over to Steffani and drag her away from Zeke, "I forbid you to talk to him and you too Carl." I say to her and Carl as I approach Krista with Steffani.

Carl Grim

"That would be cool so I could hurt the people who tell me what to do." I said to the woman and give her a fake smile.

-Krista-
"Feisty, are you? If you would have been able to control that, you woulda been great in the army." I smirked. "Is he your son, Peyton?" I turn to Peyton, my smirk replaced with a neutral expression.

Peyton Grim

"Yeah." I say and look at Carl giving him the eye to stop acting so rude.

Carl Grim

"What? its true." I said and looked away from them.

Peyton Grim

"Stop it, you be on your best behavior young man and treat everyone with respect, it may be a horrible world but that is no reason not be nice or not to treat someone without respect." I say and grab his jaw. "You hear me?" I ask him in my motherly tone which just strikes fear in everyone.

Carl Grim

I nod my head.

Peyton Grim

"Good." I say and let go of his jaw. "Now, where are we going?" I ask Krista.

-Krista-
"I may as well tell you my name. I'm Krista." I held out my hand for a handshake from the boy. "I know of a place, it is a few miles away. It is a fortress, walls 9 feet high surrounding it. Only the most elite soldiers know of it, and can have the passcode. C'mon, let's go." I lead the way.

Peyton Grim

I follow Krista with Carl and Jennette.

Carl Grim

I walk behind everyone as I look around to make sure I see no zombies.

Peyton Grim

Jennette starts crying and I calm her down as we walk to the base.

Carl Grim

Stupid baby. I thought and made sure no zombies heard her cry.

Peyton Grim

I stop her crying and she falls asleep, I make a sling so I can carry her without having to hold her. I put her in it as she sleeps, I draw out my crossbow and the base comes into view as we walk.

Zeke Grim

I look in shock and my eyes water, "what do I do now?" I ask myself and go inside the barn.
