Nathan

"Did I ever tell you I could play the acoustic guitar?" I say smiling.

"No! When did you learn to play?" I ask as I lay Scarlett in my lap.

Nathan

"When I was fourteen, I taught myself and I can sing, my mother always told me I sound like the lead singer of Nickelback." I say laughing, my mother loved to listen to me play guitar and sing.

"Hmm...I have to hear you play sometime," I say as I put the sleeping Scarlett in the crib.

Nathan

"I could go get my guitar and show you now, if you want?" I say.

"Sure, try not to get wet," I wink.

Nathan

I smile and run out to the car. I grab my guitar and run back in.

"I got wet." I say smiling and drying off with a towel. "You ready?" I ask sitting down.

I yawn and stretch my arms, "Yea, I might pass out though, music helps me sleep," I say.

Nathan

I smile and sing How You Remind Me while playing the guitar.

I stop singing and playing the guitar after two paragraphs of the song. "Did you like it?" I say smiling.

I nod my head as I slowly drift asleep.

Nathan

I smile and cover her up with a blanket. I sit back in the chair and I fall asleep too.

I wake up and look at the clock on the wall. It's eight forty three. I look over at Scarlett who is still sleeping happily. I look over at Nate, "Nate....Nathan," I whisper so I don't disturb Scarlett.

Nathan

I open my eyes tiredly and look at Cody. "Yeah?" I say quietly.

I smile, "I'm a little hungry," I whisper.

Nathan

"What do you want from the cafeteria?" I say yawning.

"Maybe some fruit. And some apple juice," I say as Scarlett wakes up. I pick her up and sway her before she can cry.

Nathan

"Ok, I will be back."

I walk through the hospital to the cafeteria on the third floor. I get fruit, two things of apple juice for Cody and I get a bag of chips.

"Here you go." I say handing Cody an apple juice and pear. I open my chips quietly and eat while watching TV.

I set Scarlett in my lap facing the TV and eat my pear, "Don't forget you and my parents are supposed to put together the baby room today," I say as I open my juice.

Nathan

"I know I am leaving tomorrow morning to get started." I say drinking the rest of my sprite from earlier.

"Okay," I hear a knock on the door and the doctor walks in, "Okay, well, little Scarlett here is heavy enough to go home, and Ms. Varga is well enough, too," he says. I look at Nate and smile.

Nathan

"Awesome, is there anything we have to sign or pay?" I ask standing up.

"There is the delivery bill, but Ms. Varga's parents paid for it, so you're free to go," He says and walks out the door. I get up and find my clothes washed and folded on the end table, "I'm gonna go change. You can put Scarlett in an outfit, if you'd like," I say as I grab my clothes and walk into the bathroom.

Nathan

I dress Scarlett up in jeans, a long sleeve shirt with a jacket to keep her warm. I put on her little tennis shoes on her and pack the stuff up. After Cody is ready we leave.

We drive back home and go inside. "So nice to be home." I say.

"Yeah! You try sitting in a hospital bed for two days straight. Not to mention you gave birth the day before," I say. I pick Scarlett up out of the carrier and hold her.

Nathan

"I'd rather not." I say smiling. "I guess Scarlett can sleep in her bassinet tonight?" I say sitting down.
